White Christmas – Celebrate Christmas With the Classics
Celebrate Christmas With the Classics!
HOLLYwood Hits From the ’40s and ’50s
Last weekend we talked about two of our favorite Christmas movies from the 1940s – Holiday Inn and It’s a Wonderful Life. Today and tomorrow we continue our weekend blog series Celebrate Christmas With the Classics.
White Christmas – 1954
With an all-star cast featuring Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye, Rosemary Clooney and Vera-Ellen, White Christmas will laugh and cry you through the holidays with its classic Irving Berlin music and dynamic dance routines.
After the war, Bob Wallace (Crosby) and Phil Davis (Kaye) leave the army and start a successful career on Broadway. When they meet sisters Betty (Clooney) and Judy (Vera-Ellen), matchmaker Davis convinces Wallace to celebrate the holidays in Vermont at Columbia Inn—where the girls are performing.
When they find out their commanding officer runs the Inn and business is slow, Wallace and Davis decide to put on a show for free to help their old friend. Let the singing and dancing begin as you meet old friends and make new ones in White Christmas.
